ABOUT US

Lower Shebelle University is a Regional and non-governmental Institution located in Merca District –
Lower Shebelle-Somalia. It has branches in Qoryoley,Buulo Mareer and Barawa District in Lower Shebelle
Region and Hamar wyene and Darulsalam Mogadishu Capital of Somali. It is a private higher education
entity that aims to provide better opportunity and higher education services with reasonable cost for the
young generation of Somali students who finished Secondary Schools.
Lower Shebelle University was founded in 2010 in the town of Merka, Capital of Lower Shebelle Region in
Southern Somalia, to broadcast a message of thought and education, academic and prove its presence in
that Region.
Lower Shebelle University (LSU) is dedicated to excellence in education, research, and community engagement.
As a comprehensive institution, LSU encompasses various colleges and departments, each contributing uniquely to
its overarching mission.
The University began her scientific career, with all its determination and insistence, thanks for God gained a
good reputation, and special relations with its counterparts from scientific institutions in Somalia, building
confidence and expertise, groping the needs of the community to become a beacon of creativity in various
fields of science and knowledge.

Academic advising begins at orientation when the student meets with a faculty member professional and peer advisor. Upon enrolling in a major or professional program. The student is assigned a faculty advisor from the appropriate department or school. In some cases, orientation programs, students may be temporally assigned to an advisor other than the one they have been assigned to for their academic career at LSU.
